Hitting Instructor Jack Celeste

•Native of South Glens Falls

•Graduate of South Glens Falls Central School and Adirondack Community College

•Professional coaching license thru the New York State Education Dept.

•Has coached modified basketball and softball at South Glens Falls for the past 10 years.  He has also coached modified baseball.

.Is currently the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at South Glens Falls

•Coached baseball at Adirondack Community College.

•Formed the South Glens Falls Girls Softball league and was president for 11 years.

•In 2001, his 14-U team qualified for the ASA Nationals in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and finished very respectably, playing against the best teams in the country.

•Jack created the Adirondack Avalanche Fast-Pitch Travel Softball Organization in 2002.  He is the head of the organization.  The Avalanche is an 18-Under and 14-Under travel softball team with the 18-U team consisting of high school All-Star players from the area.

Over the past 9 years, his Avalanche teams have won over 290 games with appearances in the Pony Nationals in Virginia and North Carolina.

In 2006, his 14-U team competed in the NSA World Series in Columbus, Ohio, and won a berth to the ASA Nationals in Sterling, Virginia.

In 2004 & 2009, his 16-U team competed in the FAST Nationals in Orlando, Florida and finished with a very respectable 9th & 10th place  finishes.

Celeste is most proud of the many players that have played for the Avalanche, who have gone on to be College All- Stars or All-Americans at the Division 1 and Division 111 Levels.
